Senior guard Saquan Singleton is out indefinitely due to a diagnosed heart abnormality, the New Mexico men’s basketball program announced on Monday morning.

The official release said the abnormality was “discovered when returning from an illness.” Singleton missed practice earlier in October due to Covid-19 protocols.

Head coach Richard Pitino had described Singleton as the most versatile player on the team, and expected him to be a leader to the younger/more inexperienced Lobos.

“His condition will continue to be monitored by the UNM medical staff to determine when it is safe for him to return to the court.
