Makuach Maluach has taken the next step to continue chasing his dream of a professional basketball career. The 6’5 guard/forward has signed with Octagon, a well known sports and entertainment agency.
Octagon was No. 6 in Forbes Most Valuable Sports Agencies in 2020. It’s the same agency that represents NBA stars Steph Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Lobo head coach Richard Pitino tried to convince Maluach to stay one more season, but after 121 games as a Lobo, the a Sydney, Australia native was ready to take the next step. Through a 2020-21 season filled with many challenges, he led the Lobos with 15.86 points and six rebounds per game. After Keith McGee opted out, Maluach was the only senior left in the roster.
The season wasn’t what he expected for his last year in college, but Maluach still pulled off a spot in the 2021 All-Mountain West third team. But more than anything else, former New Mexico head coach Paul Weir praised Maluach for his leadership and character.
I’ve known this young man for a long time! Couldn’t be more excited to welcome Makuach Maluach to the @OctagonFamily 🇦🇺🇸🇸 pic.twitter.com/oHARnoyOqY
