The New Mexico Lobos had their poorest offensive game of the season with a 56-85 loss against the UNLV Rebels on Tuesday night.
The Rebels got off to a 12-0 start before redshirt junior guard KJ Jenkins took over the Lobo offense. He scored 10 points straight and went on to lead all scorers by 15 points in the first period. Jenkins finished the night with a total of 26 points, tying his career-high from his JUCO days.
While Jenkins had a good night, the rest of the Lobo offense struggled. As a team, New Mexico shot at 34.5% from the field, 22.6% from beyond the arc, and 64.7% from the free throw line.
