Wasilla High School’s Daniel Headdings announced he is committing to New Mexico on Tuesday afternoon. The senior guard received an offer from the Lobos a couple weeks ago. Less than a month later, Headdings decided to make it official via Twitter.

As a four-year starter, Headdings was part of the Wasilla roster that won the 2018 4A state title, and made the all-tournament team. Another accomplishment includes being co-Northern Lights Conference Player of the Year alongside Wasilla Colony senior Sullivan Menard.
While UNM senior Dane Kuiper is graduating, another Alaskan athlete will join the Lobo roster. Does Kuiper get the assist on this one? He definitely gets some credit. Shannon Kuiper, Dane’s mom, congratulated Headdings on social media and he made it known that he appreciates the Kuiper family.
Dane Kuiper himself also reached out to him and told him New Mexico was a special place.
It’s a special place!
