University of New Mexico women’s basketball head coach Mike Bradbury was named one of 13 finalists for the 2019 United States Marine Corps/WBCA National Coach of the Year on Tuesday. He was the only finalist from a non-Power 5 conference, as New Mexico competes in the Mountain West.

“I am grateful to be recognized by the WBCA for everything that this team has accomplished this year,” said Bradbury on a statement. “This is great for our program and our University and shows that we are taking great steps forward. I am excited about where we are headed.”
The coach finished his third year at UNM with a 24-7 record and a trip to the WNIT. This was the second straight year of participation for the Lobos. Last year they made the WNIT for the first time since 2010.
